Friends, I am thrilled to share this Catholic wedding and amazing Lake Harriet wedding portraits!
Hurrying inside the church for my first wedding of 2022, I smiled. I had just met the bride’s father and asked about parking in a cheery exchange. The Immaculate Heart of Mary Church stood tall amidst the residential block, a gem from the past and especially inviting with the cold. Descending the stairs, I met Carmen’s sisters, each bubbly with the joy of their oldest sister’s wedding day! Watching them marvel at their sister’s full bridal attire became more precious with every passing minute. Seeing the joy of the wedding on a child’s face is a wonder to behold.
Courageous Hearts
The aroma of the incense in the mass warmed my heart as I reflected on this bride and groom, forming their own family. This day a was filled with the brightness of snow, frigid temperatures, and joyful hearts. In addition, I must also add: two brave hearts.
Not only did Carmen and Robert have to plan their wedding around their service in the military, but they carried out their day without family members on short notice. Can you imagine the courage it takes to continue your wedding day without your parents and siblings? I commend these two with all my heart and I hope these images bless everyone in the family, but especially those who could not attend.
Lake Harriet Wedding Portraits
In addition to the courage I already mentioned, these two said yes to outdoor portraits in January in Minnesota! I was absolutely thrilled. Our below freezing husband and wife photos turned out amazing. As a photographer I have my own awareness of what will be the best light and create the most dreamy images but it is entirely by the graces of these two that we braved the cold! Well done, Carmen & Robert! I’d like to note that long veils are the supreme icing on the cake for all brides, ever. (In my dreams I turn back time 8 years and tell myself: Jennifer, get a long veil for your wedding! Your photos will be epic!)
Carmen & Robert,
Thank you so much for serving our country, for bringing me into your day, and for who you are. May your hearts be united deeper and deeper, and may you grow together a new and beautiful family. It was my joy to serve you and I hope you enjoy these previews!
Joyfully,
Jennifer
