Elena & Zach’s elegant St. Mark’s Catholic Church wedding was a festive gathering of so many friends and family. These two choose such an elegant collection of details for their September day – I was positively swooning as I styled them! The nuptial mass was held in St. Mark’s beautiful cathedral and the day was delightfully sunny. Elena choose a blue and white color scheme with colorful pastel florals by Malana Sophia Floral. Her Jenny Yoo dress was the perfect mix of modern line with a hint of puff sleeve – and her train! Ladies, this train is the stuff of dreams! Of course I had to feature her capped veil as much as possible! Zach’s classic black tuxedo was the perfect match.
A Pastel Wedding Vision
First, I must admit that pastels and neutrals are my absolute favorite colors in all the world. So I am completely biased when I say that Elena’s choices of pinks, purples, blues and hints of warm zinnias was breathtaking. In the words of the bride, “I can hardly believe these are real!” It is truly amazing how florals tie a wedding day together. Elena’s bridesmaids wore a chic mix of dresses: blue tones, whites with blue florals, ruffles, and alternating styles of neckline. I wish I could have photographed them for an hour – the effect of the bouquets with these dresses was truly so gorgeous!
Honoring Her Father
Elena’s family did such a wonderful job of honoring her father, who passed away far too early in life to see his beautiful daughter on her wedding day. The immense love in this family was tangible all throughout the day. The memorial table was framed elegantly with the ceremony florals. Elena made sure to have me photograph his portrait along with her bridal details. Every speech echoed the honor and the genuine bond and love between all who experienced his loss. The way voices would catch in retelling the story of Elena’s family, the weathering of the storm of grief, and the faithfulness of God to bring in a new man to honor his place in first dances… so truly moving. Father daughter dances always touch my heart and this one was really special.
Letter to the Couple
Elena and Zach, you are such sincere and lovely people. Ever since we first met, your kindness and down-to-earth ways struck me. I left your engagement session feeling as if I’d known you for so long! To behold the cathedral brimming with family and friends in the sacred space of your marriage was a delight. All the hearts in this space knew you so much longer than I have, yet I was also tearing up! You honored every person so well who gave of their heart to bring your dream day to life. I loved listening to every story told in speeches – which highlighted the ways that you bring out the best in each other, caused all of us to get teary, laugh, and cherish both of you even more than we already did.
May your faith be ever strengthened in the delight of God’s love. Cheers to you, Mr. & Mrs. Halley!
Joyfully,
Jennifer
