A Tommie Love Story at Town & Country Club | Taylor & Josh

Jul 13, 2026

Weddings

There’s nothing like a Tommie love story in the heart of St. Paul. Taylor & Josh brought their love for sports straight into their wedding design — taking notes from Ralph Lauren with a custom golf pennant, a palette of green and cream, and all the electric energy they bring to their favorite games. This was a quintessential Tommie wedding through and through, beginning with a ceremony at the Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas — arches and all — and closing out the night at the Town & Country Club in St. Paul. The vibes were immaculate.

A Quintessential Tommie Ceremony at the Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas

Taylor and Josh said “I do” right where their story began, on the University of St. Thomas campus at the Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas. As guests took their seats, the grand arches, frescoes and stained glass of the chapel set the tone: this day is sacred. This marriage is a true celebration of all the goodness of God. I loved how the priest spoke with such candor and warmth of spirit, immediately putting everyone at ease while turning hearts to the Lord. A trumpet player added a bright, celebratory note to the worship and family members and loved ones shared readings and partook in the ceremonial duties.

After the ceremony, the couple descended the steps to the cheering of guests. Taylor & Josh wanted to honor their alma matter with photos at the illustrious arches. Every Tommie couple knows the tale: kiss under the arches at midnight and you’re destined to be married. Taking their photos beneath the arches was another highlight honoring the moments in their journey that brought them to this day.

Immaculate Country Club Vibes

If the ceremony was quintessentially Tommie, the reception at the Town & Country Club was quintessentially Taylor & Josh: a country-club palette of green and cream layered with the club’s dark wood interiors, with a signature view of the cities. The reception design perfectly captured the sporty elegance of Ralph Lauren: tables dressed in green and cream linens, striped napkins, menus, all softly lit with candlelight. I cannot get over the tassels on those menus!

The setting of T&C was absolutely perfect, and as the couple joined cocktail hour the excitement of every guest was evident. Taylor changed into a second look with a neck scarf cape as the couple said their hellos. Instead of a traditional wedding cake, a tiramisu tower took center stage for dessert — a detail that felt just as personal as everything else on the table. The many intricate details of this day are best summed up in the statement golf pennant which the couple flew on their golf cart to the hill of the course for sunset photos!

The evening energy was the kind that can only ignite when everyone is ready to dance & celebrate. Speeches had guests in tears from laughing so hard, and DJ Collin kept the dance floor packed (truly!). The standout moment of the night belonged to Taylor and her dad, whose father-daughter dance began sweet and elegant and dramatically shifted into a cowboy-hat combination of songs that swept guests into wild applause. It was a day shared, fully and joyfully, by everyone in it.

Letter to the Couple

Taylor & Josh,

You are beyond blessed. Watching the whole room move with the emotion of your sister and your brothers as they gave speeches left me so in awe of the closeness in your families. You expressed yourselves so well. The depth of your faith is truly shown in the kindness and ease with which you enjoyed the entire day. Even when the party bus wouldn’t start at first, you were unfazed. This was your day and you so clearly decided to enjoy and delight in it.

You chose the perfect venues for your day, and I love how the layers of your life stories culminate in such a beautiful way: once you were doubles partners, but now you are husband and wife! I pray that your love for each other would grow ever deeper in the love of Christ, and that His goodness to you on this day be always a testimony of how much He loves you! May your marriage hold all the fun, the teamwork, and the all-out energy that you bring to everything you love. Cheers to you, Grzesiaks!

With Love,

Jennifer

The Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas sits at the heart of the University of St. Thomas campus in St. Paul, right beside the iconic campus arches that every Tommie couple knows well — legend has it that a midnight kiss beneath them is a promise of marriage to come. With its warm stone architecture and quiet, reverent light, the chapel offers a setting rich with meaning for alumni couples, and it’s one of my favorite ceremony spaces for exactly that reason: it lets a couple’s history walk right into their wedding day.

The Town & Country Club overlooks the Mississippi River in St. Paul and offers reception space for up to 150 guests across rooms like the Audubon Room, River Room, and North Wing, plus an outdoor lawn for cocktail hour. I love this venue for its clubhouse character — dark wood, timeless architecture, and a slightly preppy elegance that’s the perfect backdrop for a couple who wants their celebration to feel classic and full of energy in equal measure.
