The tiny baby opened her eyes wide, wringing in the basket’s blankets. The call to photograph a newborn who has outgrown the continual sleep mode can be a challenge. Josie was fully aware of mother’s nearness and had no intention of closing her eyes–until we began shooting her in Mama’s arms, and the heavy lids began to close. As I kept shooting, I could not get over how beautiful this new mother of three looked – a mere two weeks after having her little girl! I know I was nowhere near as put together at that time when I had my son.
Patience is always the key with newborn sessions. If you try to force timing, you exhaust the time better spent addressing baby’s needs and then continuing on. Its as if babies can sense whether you are worried about the circumstances. I chose to take it slow, and my, how gorgeous did these images turn out!
Chris & Krista,
Congratulations on welcoming your third child into the world. I’m so excited for you to experience parenting a daughter, and for your boys to have a sister! Thank you so much for trusting me with your family and for inviting me into your home.
Joyfully,
Jennifer
