As a photographer, taking a friend out for a Lakeville anniversary session couldn’t be met with anything but joy! Add in golden light, a hillside, a gorgeous couple, and WOW. Why am I still surprised how beautifully Minnesota can kind of look like Ireland?

Toni & Dusty made my work so easy. As a dance teacher and photographer, Toni is a posing expert with a flair all her own. She’s my go-to when couples want a second shooter! We have completely different styles but it was so fun to shoot with her preferences in mind and infuse it with my style.  It was so absolutely refreshing to go on this photo date – plus, now I’ve met Dusty! As I edited this session on my computer at home, I smiled so many times remembering these moments. It’s like the joy of being newlywed fused with the appreciation of six years together into a completely new flavor.

I would be remiss if I did not pay homage to a most extraordinary third wheel that partook in this session. A persistent dragonfly continued to circle around Toni in her yellow dress! If you look really carefully you will spot it. I’d like to posit that this dragonfly loved being close to beauty, and just kept coming back for more. It gave us all a good laugh, but it would not stop! The moral of the story is clearly this: dragonflies love beautiful people as much as beautiful flowers.
