How amazing is it that the backyard wedding has made a comeback?! In the spirit of continuing on with life during this pandemic, I have witnessed such amazing communities coming together to love on the brides and grooms of 2020! Anna & Corey’s day overflowed with lavish attention to detail – I absolutely cannot get over how beautifully all the decor came together!
Favorite Moment
My favorite moment showcases the way Corey and Anna respond to adversity: with comedy. When the minister called for Anna’s ring, it took Corey a good while to figure out how to slip it on, and the guests could tell he didn’t want to hurt her! As the minister continued, Corey had to admit, “I can’t get it on!” What happened next so perfectly fit their personalities. Anna waited patiently, but finally, she had to intervene and she did so with grace and one of her glorious Anna expressions. Everyone ‘s day was brightened by this moment.
My second favorite moment was Corey’s expression upon seeing his bride for the first time. No matter how long you’ve known Corey, you know that he’s a man who makes Anna’s dreams come true. I remember listening as he told me how he handcrafted Anna’s hobby table, seeing them laugh as they reminisced over the many times they’ve shared and fishing boat tales. Such simple satisfaction in each other solidified a beautiful truth in my mind: these two are excited to grow old together! How lovely is that?
Backyard Wedding Elegance
The Collins Residence looked like an actual wedding venue! Oh you must scroll on to see the gorgeous reception tent and florals that graced the lawn. You will not regret it. (Tammie, you absolutely outdid yourself!) Corey himself made the benches for the ceremony site and Anna added wood burning work of her own. The Collins home received a mini makeover which even included a bridal suite! I will not apologize at all for all my exclamation points. I’ve never seen the lawn before wedding day, but all I can say is that Beth & Dan better prepare themselves for wedding inquiries! (And that head table!!!)
Sticking to Their Date
Anna & Corey chose a hard thing. Whittling down a guest list to fit pandemic protocol requires great fortitude. I felt so honored to be among these two families as they took joy in this new marriage. It feels like light years ago we shot their engagement session, and I simply could not stop smiling knowing their wedding day had finally arrived.
Anna & Corey,
I am so proud of you two for doing all of the hard work to arrange a beautiful wedding in times like these! Your smiles are so radiant, and your families are amazing. You treated me like a friend – I’m so touched by that, because your friends are vibrant and thoughtful folk! Way to persevere and withstand – you two look OUTSTANDING!!! I can’t wait for your big celebration next year on your first anniversary.
Joyfully,
Jennifer
