This Northfield engagement session had me absolutely swooning over the spring blossoms! I mean, these lilacs don’t get any fluffier or colorful! The verdant landscape set the perfect tone for a couple like Caroline and Andy who enjoy the simple delights of cooking and reading together. When Caroline chose her location I could not be more thrilled!

My Favorite Moment

One of the coolest parts about being a photographer is that I get to spend an hour and a half of uninterrupted time with my engaged couple! I absolutely love engagement sessions because it allows my couple to get comfy being in the paparazzi hot seat. My style of shooting is such that I tell my couple they have one job: to enjoy each other! I coach and explain everything they need to do as we go. Furthermore, I consider it my job to make my couple look great!

The end of this session echoed a statement I hear often from soon-to-be grooms: “That was actually not bad.” Aka, my energetic personality fused with the way that I direct my sessions didn’t feel awkward. Huzzah! One of my favorite moments with Caroline & Andy happened during our final walk back to our cars. I got a bit emotional taking them in as I prepared to leave, because I just wanted to hang out with these two more! It’s not everyday you witness a couple that’s fixed their eyes on what matters most in life instead of the glittering excitements.

A Perfect Northfield Engagement Session

One of the things I love about my town is that it has literally *everything* I need in terms of locations and variety of landscapes! Caroline’s blue evening dress went so nicely with the purple lilac blossoms. Sorry, but I’m not sorry for featuring them so much! Sometimes folks think they need to drive far away in order to have amazing photos. I’m believing that less and less! Caroline had scoped out the spot and knew it would be perfect. Literally, the landscaped row of lilacs was in the perfect location for us to shoot!
