What an absolute joy to photograph this Chaska wedding!! I loved returning the Outpost to be with Carissa & Ajith all day – firstly because they are amazing grace-filled people, but secondly because we are family friends with Carissa’s brother! (and so many folks from our church were invited!)

The First Page is Turned

These two have such a romantic story, beginning in Texas at the Upper Room, a house of prayer. As officiant Brent (pastor of our church!) mentioned during the ceremony, the group flight of members from our church leaving Texas could have left on time. If it had, Carissa would not have gotten to sit next to Ajith. Their friendship would not have grown into the strong love of today. I truly love hearing this story again and again, because Ajith is one of the most sincere men I have ever met. To paraphrase the maid of honor: “I was amazed to hear this quiet man launch into sharing his testimony with tears.”

Chaska Wedding Perfection

Carissa and Ajith chose the Outpost Center as their wedding venue. I love how perfectly the meadows mimic their favorite nature center hangout in Faribault, Minnesota (River Bend!). Fun fact: I photographed Ajith’s proposal to Carissa! His original surprise proposal plan was to coordinate with me and Carissa’s brother, Daniel, to capture photos on the spot at River Bend. However, an important lady altered the plans. Carissa’s niece was born later then expected!

The plot to whisk Carissa away to River Bend (and “talk on the phone” in their special spot) weakened in light of this sweet newborn baby! Ajith flew to her parent’s house, traveled with them to meet the new baby girl, her parents entered the house, BUT HE HID behind the garage to meet me. AND IT WAS TORRENTIALLY RAINING. Such a flurry of details descending over this beautiful intent. Carissa’s brother, Daniel, aided us in securing a COMPLETE SURPRISE proposal. So you see, the meadow grasses of The Outpost Center offer the perfect backdrop for these two: a nod to their special place.

The faith you share is simply stunning.  I loved how you read a dual testimony to all of your guests and shared how the Lord has been faithfully leading and drawing you into His goodness your whole lives. All my joy is with you as you nestle in to your Texas home. I am truly so grateful to witness your day and to share your story!
