I had just finished photographing Alex & Joe’s husband and wife photos, and we returned to the Grand for their reception. Right before we entered I remembered to ask them if they wanted a photo with their marquee! (I mean, how could you not want that when your sign reads, “I Do with the Donahoes”? So cute!) A huge smile spread across my face as I led Alex & Joe to the other side of the building. I realized A HUGE GROUP of their family and friends had gathered under the illustrious Grand marquee for a fun photo! The timing could not have been more perfect, so of course all you are in this blog post as well!

Downtown Northfield Wedding & the Best Locations

Okay, full disclosure: I have a total weak spot in my heart for Northfield couples! Alex & Joe are high school sweethearts and I just can’t fully convey my happiness over that fact. In addition, a handful of my brides these year grew up in my town and they even knew each other!!

When I am trusted to choose locations as a photographer, oh does it make my heart sing! Because of their trust, I was able to photograph them in four locations for portraits throughout the day! Shooting in the meadows offers its own grounded and natural vibe, and shooting on the warm stone architecture has its clean editorial look. The walking bridge of downtown Northfield served as our first look spot – I can’t get over how the individual thoughtfulness of Alex & Joe multiplies. I’m so excited to watch these two grow in their marriage.

I so enjoyed reliving the moments of your day through these images! In the sadness of postponing your wedding one year I kept imagining how beautiful your day would be. It was even better. Witnessing you two together is always so sweet. That last image in particular captures how your family and friends are behind you, around you, and for you two! You are loved!!
