Mount Olivet Church Wedding | Emmalyn & Cooper

Weddings

Hey hey! I’m Jennifer, a Minnesota luxury wedding photographer, and in this post I’ll share photos and details from Emmalyn and Cooper’s Mount Olivet Church Wedding held in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

I loved how Emmalyn and Cooper approached their wedding day. At our consultation the first thing they wanted to me to know about their day was that they wanted a day focused on relationship and not on performance. They crafted their to fit exactly their desires – no reception venue, but instead a riverboat reception that would take their guests on an evening tour of Stillwater. And my was the weather absolutely perfection for such an excursion! With the love of a traditional church wedding in their hearts, this pairing made the perfect fit for their core values as well as simplifying the demands of the day. These two truly treasure spending as much time as possible with their closest friends and family!

A Black and White Mount Olivet Church Wedding

With a black and white palette, the modern elegance and editorial look of Emmalyn and Cooper’s wedding vision shine through. A classic script font with a clean design for invitations lent to the refined and relaxed vibe of the day. Emmalyn designed these herself! I just love the clean look of the black and whites paired with the lilies – echoed by the bridesmaids. The lilting bouquets of lilies offered a nice blend of simplicity and contrast.

Mount Olivet boasts stunning architecture. The arches inside and out reflect the long history of the building in Minneapolis and I tried to incorporate as many of them as possible! The stunning effect of photographing the chapel from the height of choir loft gives the church its full artistic due. Rich red carpet, light stone, wooden accents along the vaulted ceiling… truly a sacred space.

Letter to the Couple

Emmalyn & Cooper,

My favorite part of your day was when you gave each other gifts after your first look. You both were beaming to share the special treasures you had kept hidden. I will never forget the happy shock on Cooper’s face as he unwrapped his new socks! I love that you designed a day that felt uniquely you, and did not compromise your values in the name of “what aught to be done.” How thankful I am for your trust in me to carry out your editorial vision. And oh my lanta do I love the art we created along Stillwater’s riverside! You are such a lovely couple. Blessings upon you as you walk through life together. May you ever know the depth, height, and width of God’s love for you, and the grace he extends through you to each other.

With love,

Jennifer
