Telling the story of Chris & Meredith’s Irvine Park wedding was such a dream. I’ll begin with my favorite moment from the day: the first look.
Chris kept wiping away tears with his right hand, then stopping to murmur how beautiful she looked–it was his first glance at his bride ready for the wedding day. His eyes welled up each time her took her in again – his bride alone with him in an alley of St. Paul, soon to marry him at Irvine Park. The bold blue of his tuxedo framed her white train and gown perfectly in the white alley.

What I loved about Meredith & Chris was the sincerity of their fun-loving natures. I saw Chris either laughing, tearing up, or making others laugh during his big day. For more evidence of the unique combination of elegance and fun, look no further than the engraved sunglasses featured by the groomsmen– and the horse drawn carriage that took the bride and groom away once they wed! Perhaps the most hilarious satire of the day was when friends from the St. Paul police department showed up– and actually handcuffed– the groom. The joke was played for the wedding party, and most importantly, for the fun of it.
Alongside scripture, they read a selection from the Velveteen Rabbit about what it is like to be loved and to be real (aka, you wear out a little!). The waterfall of the Irvine Park venue beautifully framed the navy tuxedos and blush dresses of the wedding party.
Chris & Meredith,
It was an honor to be a second shooter at your wedding! You two make each other laugh so easily and it was so evident how much your friends support you. May peace pursue you as you enter married life!
Joyfully,
Jennifer
