Have you ever attended a Catholic wedding? This Nuptial Mass… I just can’t even. These two are literally the sweetest together and it was such an honor to capture Mary & Samuel’s day!

Catholic Wedding Bliss

You’ve heard the word bliss before. But have you seen it in action? Have you seen two people so grounded in peace and yet so full of attention and focus on each other? My favorite moment from this wedding was Mary’s expression as she listened to each spoken part of the mass, hands woven in Samuels. Looking at her made me feel this is how it looks to truly pray. Almost as if a person could fill their face with the maximum capacity of gratitude for the immense blessings of honoring the Lord, marrying an amazing man, and seeing the joy of family and friends rejoicing. Such a glorious moment to behold.

Enjoying the Day

In retrospect, I can hardly believe that this wedding wasn’t the original plan. The pandemic could not imprison the milestones and their joys. All of these came: the happy tears as the bride put on her gown, the giddy excitement of family photos, the delightful fun of cutting the cake. In these respects, the day mirrored many weddings before it. In one respect, however, it differed entirely: this wedding displayed the simple elegance of Mary & Samuel. You won’t find a photo of their first look, because that moment was truly theirs alone. Just as the Nuptial Mass maintains a devotional focus, so too did Mary & Samuel throughout their beautiful day.

Mary & Samuel,

You two together is loyalty, compassion, and grace. The way you look at each other is a metaphor for how your hearts focus on the joy inside the other. Never loose that beauty! May the Lord richly bless your union– a new family is born!
