Family photo session: it can be a joy or a chore! What about a session that captures new memories, children in their moments and allows parents to relax? Yes! I absolutely love serving families with photography. I myself know the amazing feeling of being able to proudly share thoughtful images with family and friends! Seriously – the last time I did a session with a photographer friend of mine, I felt such a peacefulness. I knew that I didn’t have to dig back months or years to get a photo of all of us together!

Family Photo Session Success

My family photo sessions are 45 minutes long – the perfect length for genuine cooperation amongst siblings and variety of images. I’m constantly changing the grouping of who is being photographed and giving family members “breaks” when they aren’t in the frame. This year I was happy to photograph several canine family members as well as extended families. You’ll notice a handful of quintessential Northfield, Minnesota locations – which I normally pass over for families but this year I had a special request! Those downtown shots are truly fun to take. As an outdoor photographer, I love how each session has its own light based on the seasons changing throughout the year.

Thank you, thank you sweet families! You are doing the world’s most important work of strengthening the hearts, minds, and souls of the future adults of our nation. Nothing can replace you, parents, and I’m so thankful I get to be a part of honoring your stories. Getting your New Years cards in the mail makes me smile.
