Nothing feels more like summer than the swaying boughs of a willow tree, the joy of family and friends gathered, and the billows of a white tent reception. Madaline & Gabe brought so much from their heart into their wedding day. From Gabe himself hand making paper flowers to the many family and friends who brought music to the reception, this day was crafted with so much love!

The Wind in the Willow

The officiant spoke the first words after Madaline came down the aisle: “I welcome you to the celebration of Madaline, Gabe, and the wind.” Instant laughter floated up to the willow tree boughs, which danced with spirit. Truly this day was an anomaly of windy proportions! I loved watching the altar decorations dance, dried flowers and ribbon seeming to depict the joy on everyone’s heart. I loved seeing Madaline’s family again – having met them once before as I photographed her brother’s wedding!

Gabe’s family transformed their home into such a lovely space! I was so touched when I realized the parking lot was simply a grass field cut down. I asked Gabe about it and he explained that their neighbors specifically gave that portion of their field up so that it could me mowed down and used for Madaline & Gabe’s wedding.

White Tent Reception

In addition to the ceremony space, the garden theme of Madaline’s design tied together so well with the bridesmaids dresses and the colorful arrangements on the reception tables. I loved watching the animated storytelling of the Best Men and the Maid of Honor – and especially the games that followed afterward for the entire tent to enjoy.

It was so fantastic to be by your side on your wedding day. I can’t get over the beauty of the dried florals in your white tent! It was truly an honor to see you read your vows to each other privately, and to capture your tears and smiles in the moments. You created such a fun and welcoming space for your guests, and truly invited them into your delight in each other. Blessings upon your marriage, and may the wind be ever at your back 🙂
