This Red Wing wedding drew me to the beauty of the area’s bluffs and hills. Becca & Joe’s first look took place near fields nestled in the hills, and that quiet beauty of that moment showcased the simple joy that these two carried throughout their day. Watching Joe hold Becca’s hand as she lost her words in happy tears is a memory I will treasure.
The Hills of A Red Wing Wedding
A stunning landscape cannot simply be added to a wedding– it must be chosen, and the day planned around it. At Roper’s barn, an entire side of the property is given over to a path that winds through the hill, as well as a field. Sunlight flitted in between clouds all day, making it possible to achieve every ideal lighting imaginable in the spaces we chose to use. As Becca & Joe read their letters to each other I thought how picturesque they looked – almost as if in a private land of their own. My desire is always to find the best place for proper lighting and to maximize its use in the entire wedding day! So wedding party photos naturally had to take place here too, as well as family photos 🙂 I was so thrilled to use Roper’s Barn twice in the same day for the beauty its grounds afforded.
Navy Blue and Burgundy
In light of a September wedding, Becca chose navy and burgundy colors to complement a fall look. I am so thankful to Becca’s sister for allow me to use her apples in styling the invitation suite – it perfectly suited the palette. The depth of both of these colors paired so well with the greens and yellows of the trees– especially the burgundy dresses!
Becca & Joe,
Thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of your wedding day. I truly enjoyed being by your side and can’t say thank you enough for the way that you gave me the freedom to find the perfect gravel path! I love how your husband & wife photos all took place on the same route you regularly use for your runs. What a treasure that space is!
Joyfully,
Jennifer
