Gardens of Castle Rock June Wedding

Many wedding ceremonies feature music of some kind, and often the bride and groom sing along with their guests. But on Sunday, June 30th, 2019, the promenade of the Gardens of Castle Rock was not hosting merely music: it was hosting worship of the One True God. The bride and groom led the way with their expression, open and vulnerable before their guests, exalting the One who drew them together, and who knit the harmony of their friendship and the fabric of their families.

An Authentic Delight

Above all, the word genuine comes to mind – when you witness someone who truly responds with no filters or pretenses. Evan and Maddie displayed that kind of joy on their wedding day. In the grace of Maddie’s strides, in the delight of Evan’s eyes, I felt it impossible for those present to walk away untouched. With arms stretched high, this couple radiated with thanksgiving.

Hopeful In the Storm

Altogether, the fervent prayers of many found their reward on this day. Though thunderstorms and blazing heat threatened to overtake the day, however, not one drop fell during the ceremony. The black clouds blew away with a sprinting wind, and the sun shone again. The reception pavilion filled with laughing guests, and the lawns with game players. The mirth of soulful dancers and reunions from across the country filled the air. I love how the threat of bad weather did not have any affect on Evan nor Maddie’s attitudes. Even the mud afterward tried to thwart photographs – and still the deep delight of this couple outshined the golden glow that fell as they drove off as husband and wife.

Thank you for trusting me to capture your union. I enjoy your uniqueness and your intensity. I admire how deeply you feel and how intentionally you express your love for others. May you truly delight in this new season, and in the Father’s delight over your marriage.
