What gorgeous weather for a St. Paul Wedding! Molly & Ezra made the difficult and beautiful choice to keep their wedding in 2020 but to change their venue. I echo what the minister said during the ceremony: “I am proud of you two!” Augustana Lutheran Church provided such a glorious spot for first looks and portraits!

From Gustavus to a St. Paul Wedding

You may remember Molly & Ezra from their warm weather engagement session at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter. Originally, the matrimony was to take place inside Christ Chapel on the very campus that brought these two together. What a difficult choice to move elsewhere! In crafting a new wedding plan, Molly & Ezra scaled down the reception to a wedding party affair and filled the sanctuary with only close family and a few friends. (By the way, they’ve got me all excited for next year’s anniversary reception!!)

Two hearts of Gold

I walk into the bridal getting ready space with Molly, and one thing stands out: this woman is a giver! She had planned so many specific gifts to be given on her wedding day to bridesmaids and family members. She filled an entire table laying them all out! One of my favorite decisions Molly made was to honor those who have passed on in the family with white roses at the altar. Each rose bore a name, representing specific family members who were not forgotten in the celebration. Molly’s deep compassion also unfurled as happy tears at several moments during the day. Firstly, when she saw Ezra as her groom for the first time. It was so beautiful to see Ezra hold the space for her to express exactly what she felt. Secondly, when siblings sang (absolutely professionally!) during the ceremony. And lastly, as they rejoiced recessing out of the altar!

YAAAAAYY!! I remember our communications throughout the insanity of 2020 and can only look back and say that you both were so trusting, so aware of what mattered most to you, and so clearly happy to enjoy all of the goodness in your wedding day. You treated me like a friend, and I hope you enjoy looking through these images reliving the day! I can’t wait for your one year anniversary next year!!
